Length: 36 - 40 cm Characteristics: Large mud hen, with long legs and long bill. During the Summer the lower part of the males neck is reddish and the dorsal is brown with black patches; the wings are grey.
During the Winter the upper part is grey-brown with alot of black patches; the lower part is white. Phenology: Migratory and Winter bird
